Can't find anything about Russell floating about, all the Souths articles that I found were posted last night so since I was about to do my footy tips for the week, how about a little preview of the Rabbitoh/Titan match to kick things off.
GOLD COAST TITANS V SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS
Saturday 2nd May, 3pm
Skilled Park
Referees: Ashley Klein, Chris James
HEAD TO HEAD
Rabbitohs 2 wins, Titans 1 win
FORM GUIDE
Titans: WLWWWWL
Rabbitohs: WLWWLLW
The Gold Coast has a short turnaround after Monday night's loss in Penrith, and have lost lose prop Matt White to a three-week suspension.
But the home side will welcome back co-captain Luke Bailey and five-eighth Mat Rogers, who were sorely missed against the Panthers.
The Rabbitohs are coming off a win over Cronulla, but would not have been happy with conceding 26 points against the last-placed Sharks.
The Titans will be a tougher challenge and are unbeaten at home this year, and always look dangerous when their key men - Bailey, Rogers, Scott Prince, Preston Campbell, Anthony Laffranchi, etc - are available.
Souths halfback Chris Sandow rediscovered some good form in last week's win after an ordinary couple of weeks, and his match-up with Scott Prince will be a highlight.
KEY MATCH UP
There are a host of good match-ups in this clash - Luke Bailey v Roy Asotasi, Mat Rogers v John Sutton, Ashley Harrison v Craig Wing, Nathan Friend v Isaac Luke - but the main focus will be on Prince v Sandow.
Prince heads a group of terrific attacking players at the Gold Coast, but while they've been winning games this year the Titans haven't been as effective in attack as they'd like.
They haven't scored more than 20 points in a game since round 1, and since then have relied on their defence keeping opponents to two tries or less for all of their wins.
That might not be possible this week, particularly if Sandow is in good touch.
The little Rabbitohs half set up two tries last week - one from a perfect pass and another from a slick kick - and he can give Souths a real shot at winning this one if he can outshine Prince this week.
PUNTERS GUIDE
Head to head: Titans $1.45; Rabbitohs $2.65
If Sandow and Sutton are in top form, the Rabbitohs will be in with a real chance here.
But the Titans defence is one of the hardest to break in the NRL this year, and with a near full-strength lineup at home they should get the points done. Gold Coast to win by 6 in a low-scoring contest.
