could it be she realized that her [or her people's] attempts to denigrate Russell via the gossip press may have backfired against her in Hollywood?

Or could it simply be that neither she nor any of her people ever made those comments to the gossip press in the first place, but that it was one more example of the rags creating an "angle" and then "reporting" on it? They took the "she's too young" reason and ran with it, distorting it into something it most probably never was.
There's been much talk about this MO of the gossip press here in the last couple of days, and as you yourself are saying nobody knows if she or any of her people ever contacted Page 6.....so why do you still assume that it came from her in some way?
Whenever a quote came directly from her, it has never been anything negative about RH or why and how she dropped out of the project. She really doesn't seem to hold any kind of grudge over it, whereas you seem to want her to hold a grudge over it, because you seem to hold a grudge over the fact that she....what, doesn't hold a grudge over it?

Russell has talked many times about how projects sometimes just fall through......and how your involvement may do, too, due to script changes and changes in the character. How sometimes what looked good in the beginning, just didn't work out in the end. And how you have to be able to let it go, to not fret over it and to not hold onto your disappointments forever, because that's just the way it is, just the way this business works.
With the massive changes that happened to RH, there were bound to be "victims".
But Russell has a far greater understanding of this than any of us, because he is "inside" the business. He knows how it works.
And so does Sienna. I'm sure she was super-excited and happy when she was cast and couldn't wait to do it. And I'm also sure that Ridley didn't cast her for no reason (and no, it wasn't because he thought a young hot actress like Sienna would be good for the film....what an unprofessional approach that would be). But then they kept re-writing the script and both the story and the characters changed dramatically, mainly Marian getting "older".....and at some point it must have started to occurr to all involved that it wouldn't work anymore with her. That she wouldn't work in the role anymore. I'm sure they tried to find ways to make it work, like aging her with make-up for instance. I'm also sure it was an agonizing process, but at some point they (and with they I mean all involved, including Sienna) must have come to the conclusion that they would simply need to re-cast the role. It was only the gossip press that used words like "sacked", "fired" or "dropped" (more creating an angle and then reporting on it).......whereas I rather think that the decision was reached amicably. Sometimes things just don't work out. That's why I think she is okay with Cate getting the role, because Marian as she is now is simply older, making an older actress a better fit. Why would she have to feel threatened by that? Keira Knightly, however, would have been a completely different thing, since she is the same age as Sienna. Casting her instead would have meant that the filmmakers saw Sienna as lacking and wanting and had to look for a better actress her age. Yeah, that would have been a bad blow. But being replaced by an older actress, because the role has been re-written as an older women, that's something else.
That's why I think that the decision for Sienna to leave the project was made in mutual agreement.
I have never heard anything from Ridley, Russell, Universal, Imagine OR Sienna herself that made me believe otherwise.
The gossip press, however, were having a field day with it. One more chance to bring out the old "Russell is fat, old, over, bloated, a monster" angle, and one more chance to knock Sienna down a peg.

Is there a vendetta going on against Sienna? I'm starting to believe there is. And it's not just the press engaging in it.

I don't believe Miller has any new film projects in the pipeline since she was dropped from RH.

She'll be in G.I. Joe this summer, which has the potential to be big.
And she has completed Hippie Hippie Shake, by the director of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and the writer of Billy Elliott and with a great looking British cast.

Oh and by the way, Russell doesn't have any new film projects lined up after RH, does he?
