Geeeze we almost gave up ANOTHER try from kickoff. No more shoulder charges for Chrissy!
Tigers are threatening and Crocker knocks on so they get 6 more. No -- we get the ball back on a scrum! And then Issac loses it in a tackle. This is just so discouraging. Roy's on the field, along with Mcpherson -- Sutton on the bench still Where's Eddie? Crocker chips and chases! How did that Tiger get the ball??? Who cares? He scores. Try Tigers Kick is good Tigers 48 Souths 20 Have mercy and Fuck. Me. Dead.

Tigers could crack 50 since we were way offside on the kickoff.
2 minutes left. Tigers get 6 again. Try at the hooter. Tigers hang a 50 on us. DAMMIT! I'm sick. "It's at the embarrassing stage for Souths" How can professionals make such fundamental bonehead mistakes???

Final score Tigers 54 Souths 20
"I'd be very disappointed and unhappy with this Souths performance" "Comprehensive performance by the Tigers - they were hungrier and they played with purpose. Souths, their effort was not there. There will be some soul-searching this week. The line of thinking that there is a player revolt will not be erased after this performance tonight." "Souths were off the pace from the very beginning and the Tigers put them to the sword"

The announcers state that the Bunnies now have to win all but one of their remaining games to make the finals. They can still do it if they steel themselves
and give it their all. But it will be one tough struggle.

Souths have a very tough draw from here on in. It's possible, but not probable, especially if they play like they did for most of tonight. You can't
make fundamental errors like they did and make it to the Top 8.
Well done to the Tigers -- they played like they wanted to win. (They played like Queenslanders) And hats off to Robbie Farah -- he played a hell of a game.

"Tigers racked up a half-century and you don't see that often anymore. Souths didn't do themselves any favors. Tigers played with a higher level
of enthusiasm. Souths just didn't have the passion and the effort wasn't there. Tigers were far too good and didn't have a bad player. Souths'
application of defense needs addressing."

Agreed, Babz. It will be a tough road for Souths. I don't know enough about the game to argue that coaching is the main component to the problem but even
my eyes can see you can't play with that percentage of crucial and fundamental errors and expect to win.

HALFTIME: Wests Tigers 26 South Sydney Rabbitohs 10
The Tigers are playing some pretty simple and effective football here, and that last try on the stroke of halftime could prove to be a real killer blow. The Rabbitohs look like a team short on energy and ideas - it'll take a fair turn around to get them back into this match. "Highway to Hell" is blasting out as the Rabbitohs return for the second half ... an omen perhaps? The second half is underway! 42 min: Robbie Farah throws a forward pass to Daine Laurie only 20 metres out from the Tigers line. 43 min: John Sutton makes half a break from the scrum before trying an inside flick-pass to Jamie Simpson with the tryline beckoning, but he can't reel the ball in and fumbles it forward. 44 min: TRY Wests Tigers A break from Taniela Tuiaki gets the Tigers into attacking position, and it finishes with some fast hands and a nice offload from Tim Moltzen seeing Blake Ayshford get into a gap and scoring in the corner. Benji Marshall adds the extras from the touchline. Wests Tigers 32-10 48 min: Roy Asotasi tries to spark something out wide but the ball is lost forward right on halfway. He makes up for the error by forcing the Tigers into touch on the first play after the scrum. Meanwhile, Jason Taylor gets a hearty "boo" from the crowd when he appears on the big screens. 49 min: Asotasi comes up with another fumble, and the Tigers start rolling upfield once more. 50 min: TRY Wests Tigers A nice last-tackle kick into open space catches the Rabbitohs asleep and the Tigers chasers get to the ball first, earning a repeat set at the same time. It only takes them one more play to take advantage though - another Robbie Farah pass to the shortside finds Beau Ryan and he crosses untouched for a pretty soft try. Benji Marshall misses the conversion attempt. Wests Tigers 36-10 53 min: Robbie Farah nearly pulls off a 40/20 but he had his foot just on the wrong side of the line when he kicked it. 55 min: John Sutton puts in a horrible last tackle kick that sails out on the full. 57 min: TRY South Sydney Rabbitohs Luke Capewell throws a bad pass from dummy-half that bounces along aimlessly before Chris Sandow (who has just returned to the field in place of John Sutton) picks up the loose ball and puts Nathan Merritt into a gap for a surprisingly easy try. Sandow adds the extra two. Wests Tigers 36-16 61 min: Daine Laurie collars Michael Crocker with a lazy high tackle, it looks worse than it really was. 62 min: TRY South Sydney Rabbitohs Benji Marshall catches a Chris Sandow kick on his own tryline before heading out to the wing and trying to link up with his outside men but he makes a meal of it and Luke Capewell comes away with the loose ball before diving across in the corner for his third try. Chris Sandow misses the conversion attempt. Wests Tigers 36-20 64 min: Chris Sandow tries a 40/20 but the ball takes a wicked bounce and stays in the field of play - somehow Jamie Simpson gets to the ball first but can't link up with any support and the Tigers come away with the scraps. 68 min: Luke Capewell drops a Tigers bomb thanks to some good pressure from Gareth Ellis - the Tigers will go back onto the attack. 68 min: TRY Wests Tigers Skando scores! It was a pretty simple play, taking the pass from dummy half and charging for the line before somehow getting the ball down despite the attention of three Rabbitohs defenders. Benji Marshall adds the extras. Wests Tigers 42-20 70 min: Bryce Gibbs runs 70 metres from the kickoff. Taniela Tuiaki goes close to the tryline on the next play but tries a miracle pass infield and the Rabbitohs come up with the ball. 73 min: Colin Best and Issac Luke combine to find some space up the touchline but Luke's final pass is fumbled forward as he tried to link up with some support. 76 min: TRY Wests Tigers Michael Crocker tries a chip-and-chase and comes up with the ball but knocks it on when trying to link up with Chris Sandow on his inside. Shannon Gallant picks up the loose ball on his own 30 metre line and puts the after-burners on, running all the way up the touchline to score. Benji Marshall converts. Wests Tigers 48-20 78 min: The Rabbitohs are penalised for being in front of the kicker from the restart. 79 min: Benji Marshall tries a kick for Taniela Tuiaki out wide but Luke Capewell claims the ball to spoil the chance. 80 min: TRY Wests Tigers There's the 50! Blake Ayshford finishes off a pretty basic backline movement by finding a gaping hole and crossing untouched for his second try. Benji Marshall converts. Wests Tigers 54-20 FULLTIME: Wests Tigers 54 South Sydney Rabbitohs 20 The fulltime siren puts an end to the slaughter - the Tigers were simply too good for a badly out-of-sorts Rabbitohs side. ----------------------------------------- Wow that even the updater for LeagueUnlimited is getting a bit 'editorial', including the comment re JT being booed, and the Rabbitohs being 'out of sorts'.

I have to agree Babz, Cgee. It's still possible to do it, but it's a mountain to climb. Sigh.....
Today was the first time I'd actually seen a picture perfect broadcast of the game and it was not a pretty sight. I guess the Big Bunny must be tearing his hair out right about now. BB ![]() |

Happy 4th of July... | ||

Thanks BB for that nice salve of an article to put on the bunny wounds this morning. But geez - not a good day for those rabbits. I can't see
them making the playoffs now.
Kittie, glad you enjoyed Away We Go. I may even go see it again if the explosion movies don't root it out too soon. I guess there are two possibilities on the Palin resignation - a presidential run or a scandal. We shall see. Hope all us US folks have a good 4th. We're having Mr. Sec's family down for cookout and fireworks. Mr. Sec is a pyromanaic and has purchased some huge stuff, and we're hoping the weather holds for a good round of fireworks in the country tonight. Y'all come on down. I reject your unbelievable bullshit.

Sad day in the bunny hutch... ouch.
========== I'm not sure what to think about Palin's resignation. Unless some sort of scandal comes out, I'm going to assume she's going to try to put together something to do with her presidential ambitions. Why this woman would think she's qualified to be the leader of the Western world, is beyond my comprehension .... Certainly, if she does have genuine national ambitions, she would be doing Alaska a real disservice staying in office while she gallivanted around the country. So, giving her the benefit of the doubt, perhaps that's her thinking too. And if she's the best the Republican Party can put forward, t'is more evidence of the disaray they're in.

I can understand resigning to run, but this is a little early to start running. She should have stuck around for another year, then started resign and run. But
damn it, I hope she doesn't run. There are a lot of people that will vote for her and It's scary to think she could get elected.
Sorry to see such a loss to the bunnies. Not good.

Oh, what a sad game for the Bunnies, I just don't know what to make of it but something is terribly wrong. I will go see Away We Go when it arrives as I am so looking for something other than exploding blockbusters to see. I think only one person responded when
I urged everyone to go see Up, which is fine, as long as you go see it. I don't care if you never go to animated films, if you are middle-aged or older (or
even if you're not) you will love it, guaranteed!

54-20? Yikes. Poor Bunnies.
I predict that Sarah Palin's been "hiking the Appalachian Trail" or some such scandal OR she's got a multi-million dollar job lined up
with Faux News.
