...what will July bring? Is it just me or does time seem to be flying by??
Not much to report except my son got hit by a cab in NYC the other day. It seems Ross was out for a run and one foot briefly stepped off the curb into a bus
lane, a cab sideswiped him from behind and as he spun around his other foot came down in the street and was run over by the cab. Say what you will about New
Yorkers but he said several ran to his aid, as did a nurse who happened to be the passenger in the cab that hit him. As called me using the nurse's phone
he was a bit loopy, in shock no doubt, but very upbeat no doubt in an effort to thwart any thought his mother might have of jumping on a train and rushing to
his aid.
An ambulance took him to a hospital and although the foot was very bruised, he only suffered a broken pinkie toe and another toe that apparently had come
through his shoe (?) had the skin scraped off it. The doctors were amazed there wasn't more damage. A friend bearing a Cinnabun came to be with him, he was
released and an hour later he called me from a Sushi restaurant where they had stopped for dinner.
So he's doing ok, he worked from his room yesterday and was going into the office today. Unfortunately I think he's about to find out that when your
ability to walk is hindered in any way life becomes tougher and more frustrating by leaps and bounds especially in a city where you need to walk everywhere for
anything. I'm just glad he's ok and he's no doubt relieved that his mommy stayed put and let him handle this all on his big boy own!
Off to see if I can find any news...
