What a treat it was last night to finish cleaning up from dinner, come in here to crash and find Russell's statement. It was one Hell of a statement, too, you can't help but listen to him and appreciate his passion for the club. He's a class act, our guy is. For those of you who are still waffling about a Blu Ray player and the movies, I know there are lots of stores having huge Black Friday specials today but I was just perusing Amazon and found some great things. They have a Sony Blu Ray play (1080p, which is what you want) for $109!!! It's on the Black Friday deal page under High Tech Deals. Also on that page they have a section for movie deals with the new Blu Ray Sapphire Gladiator DVD for $10!!! What more incentive do you need? Amazon

I don't pay much attention to the rugby game itself, but I do find his role in the marketing and fundraising side of it very interesting. If only he'd come down here and do a speech like that in support of classical music for my season ticket holders.... On a purely girly-girl note...he looks incredibly cute in his letter jacket! We lost our Blue Ray capabilities when Ross took his Playstation with him when he moved out so now we'll have one when we need it. Good luck to anyone headed out to fight the good fight today. As a 'professional' shopper, I never go out on Black Friday. I think since I have home today one able bodied young man and one older man who needs to sort through his crap, I'll take advantage of that to get the garage cleaned out. It's a 5 page spread with a to-die-for photo of Our Boy (in menacing Maximus mode), another one for all you horsey lovers, and pics of all the merry men and Maid Marion. There's also a "four letter word" quote from Maestro Doyle in the written article. LOL!! I'd recommend you get a copy of this one. Off now to a meeting alas so I can't say more but just wanted to give folks the heads up. BB

I tried without success to get a moment yesterday to wish y'all a good one, but it didn't happen. At least dinner came off without a hitch, and now the family crew is gone. I have about three hours of transitional quiet before my son's friends get here for a zombiethon and pizza consumption affair in the basement tonight, complete with a polar bear swimming event planned for the pond at some point. Ah, youth. Nice Souths message. That's one impressive lineup they have for next year, and if everybody stays healthy surely they will make the playoffs. Thanks for the heads up on the deals, Cindy. You couldn't get me out shopping on Black Friday if my life depended on it... maybe if you threatened to shove hot pokers into my eyes, I could be persuaded, but thankfully, no one has tried to do that... so I let my internet shopping fingers do a bit of work and found just what we wanted, at a very good price ... for a couple people on our list. To be delivered by Santa, of course, in his little brown UPS sleigh. I'm looking forward to the Empire spread. I guess BB's talking about the UK version. [edit: We cross posted BB ... thanks for the links! ] I enjoyed listening to and watching Russell in his promo piece. It's a bit jarring to hear him promote commercial entities, but I fully understand he's pitching team sponsors, so he's forgiven. susi... the jacket he's wearing is a traditional American "varsity" style jacket. It may not be subtle fashion, but it's no louder than most team apparel. "Either you "get" him, or you don't"
